Your neighbourhood

Getting involved

Are you passionate about keeping your neighbourhood clean and tidy? Then you could get involved in our estate services.

Love your neighbourhood!

Love your neighbourhood is our new campaign focused on working with our residents to create cleaner, greener neighbourhoods that we can all be proud of!

During a tenant question time (TQT) session last year, we received feedback that residents wanted to be more involved in their neighbourhoods and take pride in where they live. We want our residents to work with us in a way that best suits them - so there is something for everyone.

Our gardening competition

On 17 June 2025 we will be holding a gardening competition that all our residents can get involved in!

The three categories are:

  • Best-kept front garden
  • Best-kept communal garden
  • Best floral display e.g. pots, baskets or balconies

Winners will receive gardening vouchers up to the value of £50!

Find out how you can get involved here - good luck!

Neighbourhood Champions

You can also become a Neighbourhood Champion for your block!

Our volunteer champions rate the tidiness and cleanliness of their estate and block once a month by using a score guide booklet.

We will then use this information to ensure that our cleaning and grounds maintenance contractors are meeting the contractual standards.

To become a Neighbourhood Champion, you can email customerrelationsteam@wcht.org.uk or call 01923 209 266.

Estate inspections

If you want to be involved in your local community, you can join us on one of our estate inspections.

This is a physical walk-around of the external areas that we own and maintain.

They take place four times a year in each of our neighbourhoods to check they are up to standard and to identify any issues.

These are open to everyone! To find out when we'll be carrying out estate inspections in your area, download our estate inspections calendar.

They're also a great way to meet your Housing Officer and your Estates Officer. Each of our community areas has its own Housing Officer, who you can speak to about anything – from your rent account and tenancy, to neighbourhood issues and anti-social behaviour.

To let us know that you would like to join in, or to ask any questions, please contact your Housing Officer. Find out who your dedicated Housing Officer is here.
