Young Carers Action Day raises awareness around the contributions, pressures and challenges young carers face when selflessly caring for friends and family members who are ill, disabled or struggle from mental health problems or addiction. Whilst this in an annual event occurring once a year, young carers continue to care every day during those 365 days; efforts which should be recognised and celebrated.
To help celebrate young carers, we’re supporting this year’s theme ‘Taking Action on Isolation’ which is all about securing action to help end the isolation young carers often experience. If you know someone who is a young carer, please get involved and help take action against isolation. For more information around how you can help visit the Carers Trust website; an organisation who works tirelessly to raise awareness of unpaid carers in the UK.
Are you a carer and wish to help raise awareness by sharing your own experiences? With Carers Week coming up in June, Watford Community Housing are eager to hear from you. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please email izzy.farrer@wcht.org.uk and emily.speed@wcht.org.uk with your story and could be in with a chance to win a Love2shop gift voucher!
