On Saturday 29th June our wonderful team joined in the fun at Holywell Community Festival. The event – organised by a number of groups including The Holywell Community group, Christ First Watford and The Cycle Hub – was a big success and the first of what we hope to be many Holywell Community Festivals!

Showcasing local talent, the event boasted great music, food and company, with a huge array of stalls and stands featuring a fun-fair-like element.

Providing some funding for the event, we also took the opportunity to join in the fun with a stall, manned by Tracey Harewood (Customer Relations Officer), Andrea Loomes (Neighbourhood Services Team Leader) and Elena Reis (Community Engagement Officer). The team were on hand throughout the day to promote the work we do across the community, whilst hooking in new interest with a fun game of hook-a-duck!

With the lure of sweet prizes on the hook-a-duck stand, our team spent a very busy day explaining the avenues of involvement we offer and meeting with the community!

Elena explained: “We got quite a few people skills-mapped on the day for future involvement with us and other groups such as Solo Stars, which is really great!”

It’s wonderful to hear how much of a success Holywell’s first festival has been and just how much interest has been expressed in the groups we work alongside and support! Well done all!
