Four Million homes – who are funded by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities – provide free high-quality training for social housing residents.

Their goal is to inform and raise awareness of social housing residents' rights and how you can help protect them.

They're offering free training courses and webinars to as many social housing residents as possible. These free resources cover how you can help protect and promote your rights, help you to be informed about how landlords and housing associations make decisions and how you can engage with your landlord or housing association.

The first three training videos are available online now, these videos are:

  • Know your rights to engage and be heard
  • Resident panels
  • How to run an effective residents' association

More videos will be released throughout 2024 and the videos can be watched anytime – they're designed to help you learn at whatever pace is comfortable to you!

You can find the videos and more information about each individual one on the Four Million Homes website.

Free webinars!

The webinars they offer cover one topic a month and allow you to talk directly to their experts and ask them questions – you can even join the sessions on your phone!

January's webinar covers energy efficiency and net zero; it explores what landlords should be doing to help improve energy efficiency in homes. The webinar takes place on 29 January and has two sessions available.

On 13 February they are running a webinar on housing quality and the expectations of landlords regarding the quality of their homes. To book a slot and find out more about both webinars, please go to their website.
