We’re very proud to announce that over the Christmas period we were able to fund a festive pantomime visit for our single parents’ group, Solo Stars!

A total of 65 people from the group (currently at 265 members) attended an exuberant, high-spirited production of Dick Whittington at Watford Palace Theatre.

This was a wonderful afternoon of theatre for single parents and their children, and a well deserved respite from what has been a difficult year for many parents, as schools have closed and the cost of living has spiralled.

The feedback was fantastic, with many happy families leaving messages of thanks on the Solo Stars Facebook page:

  • “Thank you very much Solo Stars! My children absolutely loved the panto! Their 1st ever, and I'm home just in time from work to enjoy it with them! two ecstatic children. Thank you”

  • “Thank you so much to the organisers, this was lovely!”

  • “What can I say but WOW, what a wonderful evening full of laughter and cheer... so lovely to see smiles on so many faces... here's to next year's panto…”

Established in 2018, Solo Stars seeks to bring together single parent families in Watford for friendship, support and advice and has grown to become an important support network for single parents in the area.
