On Thursday 23 June, we held our second annual Big Door Knock (BDK) in which our aim was to visit all of our tenants in one day. 

It gave our tenants the chance to hear from us, but more importantly, a chance for us to learn what matters most to them. We managed to visit over 4000 of our properties in one day and sent Voice magazines to the remaining properties over the following weeks! 

While donning our signature purple t-shirts and bags, here’s what we got up to on the day:

  • We delivered Voice magazine to each household that we visited. This was a special edition of Voice that contained information on our upcoming Rightsizing events, our Greener Herts partnership with B3Living and settle, how we are supporting customers with their money worries, and so much more!   • We encouraged tenants to sign up to our digital tenancy service (DTS).  Our DTS gives you the chance to manage your tenancy in your own time – from reporting repairs and paying your rent, to reporting ASB and giving us feedback! Around 50 customers signed up to an online account during the Big Door Knock – there is still a chance for you to sign up too! Just head over to our website to sign up today.
  • We also encouraged our customers to join the Gateway Membership Team (GMT). The GMT are a group of tenants, leaseholders and local residents, who meet regularly to discuss issues that affect residents. As a member of the GMT, you will commit just a few hours a month to meet with staff and Board members to help influence our key decisions. Helping steer our services and allocating grant funding are also integral to the role – amongst other things! We are very pleased that over 160 residents have registered an interest in joining so far. If you would like to join, please email community@wcht.org.uk

A few common issues brought up by customers were the delays in repairs caused by the pandemic and a lack of direct communication with customers. This information is incredibly useful, and our teams will be working hard to ensure we provide the best possible service.
