Coffee Morning at Hollytree House raises £££ for Macmillan

A huge congratulations to our Independent Living team and the residents of Hollytree House, who have come together for a coffee morning which has raised almost £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Buoyed on by an abundance of cake and caffeine, the coffee morning was attended by some 26 tenants, family members and Watford Community Housing staff, raising an incredible £383 via a table-top sale and a fairly raucous raffle! After which our staff members visited tenants who could not attend but were generous enough to donate to such a worthy cause.

Just £30 could pay for a Macmillan nurse to provide essential medical, practical, and emotional support for 1 hour, so this coffee morning could contribute to over 12 hours of much-needed support, a superb effort. 

So far this year, donations from Macmillan Coffee Mornings have exceeded £620,000, that’s enough to fund 11 Macmillan nurses for a year!
