The Little Door Knock - Notting Hill Genesis

On 14 May 2026, volunteers from Watford Community Housing pounded the pavements from Bovingdon to Berkhamstead and across to Hemel to visit the residents that have come over to us from Notting Hill Genesis.

In March 2026, we took on 509 homes in Hertfordshire from Notting Hill Genesis – many residents are very welcoming of this change and like the idea of having a more local landlord.

To ensure that we welcome these customers and provide them with a high-quality service, we went door-to-door saying hello! We…

• asked for up-to-date contact details so we can keep them better informed in the future and tailor our services to meet their needs
• let them know how to contact their housing officer
• suggested they sign up for a free online account – the fastest way to raise repairs! If you are having trouble signing up, let us know by contacting enquiries@wcht.org.uk 
• encouraged them to sign up to become a member – giving them exclusive savings and voting rights 

One resident from Grovehill said: "I've been of a lot of changes over the past few years, so I'm looking forward to being part of Watford Community Housing and even signed up as a member today. It has been really good to have a Senior Manager and a member of the Gateway Membership Team visit my home. 

"I am glad we are being listened to."
