It's gardening competition time!

With the success of last year’s gardening competition, we are holding another one this year – here is all the information you will need to get involved!

On 3 June 2026, we will be holding our annual gardening competition, open to all Watford Community Housing residents. No matter whether your garden is big or small, you can get involved!

There are three categories:

• Best-kept front garden
• Best-kept communal garden
• Best floral display (for example pots, hanging baskets or balconies)

Winners can receive gardening vouchers worth up to £50.

How do I get involved?

You can enter the competition as an individual or as part of a group. If you are joining as a group, please nominate one person to contact us on the groups’ behalf.

To take part, simply email jane.pursey@wcht.org.uk with your name, address, and the category or categories you wish to enter.

We will then let you know whether our judging panel will be visiting you in the morning or afternoon. We’re also delighted to confirm that once again we will be joined by Green Flag judge Barry Joyce.

The small print

• To take part, you must be a Watford Community Housing resident
• All members of a group entry must be residents
• You may enter more than one category
• The top three winners in each category will receive the following in shopping vouchers, kindly donated by our contractors, Accuro: 1st place – £50, 2nd place – £30 and 3rd place – £20.
