We are responsible for maintaining many of the green spaces in your neighbourhood. Our grounds maintenance service is provided by a specialist contractor and includes cutting grass and shrubs, help with clearing and cleaning areas, and any tree surgery that is required. We also have a contractor for the cleaning of communal areas within residential blocks.
In line with our service standards, we visit and inspect neighbourhoods and communal areas every six weeks to check that the communal areas are up to standard and to identify any issues.
We cut the communal grass areas at least 10 times each year (between March and October), weather permitting. We will cut the grass any time it has grown longer than 5cm. We also litter-pick the communal grounds around our blocks every six weeks.
Also, we clean communal blocks every week and ensure that information about cleaning dates and cleaning tasks are displayed in each block. Windows in communal halls and landings are cleaned every three months.
Areas where there is less greenery are kept tidy, safe and clean by our estate services team. This involves maintaining external communal areas through litter-picking, snow clearance, small communal repairs and general clearance. Our estates team also arrange for the collection and disposal of items that have been fly-tipped on our land.
Each of our community areas has a dedicated Estates Officer, who is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the area.

If you want to help keep your local area up to scratch, you can join us on one of our estate inspections. They are open to everyone and help us to identify any areas of concern. They take place four times a year in each of our community areas, and also allow you to meet your Neighbourhood Officer. To find out more, get in touch on 0800 2182247.
You can also volunteer to become a resident inspector who monitors your local area. Inspectors rate the tidiness and cleanliness of their estates and blocks using our score guide. We will then use this information to ensure that our cleaning and grounds maintenance contractors are meeting residents’ expectations. To become a resident inspector, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01923 209183.
