Estate Services at Watford Community Housing involves the upkeep of external communal areas, including communal cleaning flat blocks, communal window cleaning and grounds maintenance.
Estate Services also includes litter picking of external areas, snow clearance, and carrying out small communal repairs, such as removing broken glass, cutting back any overgrown shrubs that block paths and unblocking any drains or gulleys in communal areas.
Estate Services arrange for collection and disposal of all fly-tipping on our land, and keep an eye out for any abandoned vehicles on our estates, making them a clean, tidy and safe place to live.
We work in partnership with Glendale to maintain and upkeep the grounds on our estates. Glendale cut the grass, cut back shrubs, help with clearing and cleaning and tree surgery. Estate inspections - join us!
We invite all of our tenants, local councillors and any other residents who are interested to join us for Estate Inspections, which take place four times a year in all of our 20 community areas. The inspections focus on picking up any areas for concern outside, such as litter, disrepair and other external issues. Become a Resident Inspector!
If you’d prefer a more hands-on approach, you can become one of our Resident Inspectors. Open to anyone in the community (not just our residents), being a Resident Inspector will help us to shape the service we provide through our grounds maintenance and cleaning contracts. You’ll be given a score guide, and asked to rate the grounds and cleanliness of your area/block. We’ll look at your scores and feed back to our contractors to make sure your voices are heard.
