About us

What we do

We are a housing association with homes across South-West Hertfordshire. We aim to make a real difference by delivering better homes and supporting our communities.

We work with our tenants to improve homes, offer high-quality services and inspire communities.

We own and manage around 5,700 homes across South-West Hertfordshire, with a focus on providing much-needed homes for lower-income households.

As a Community Gateway organisation, we’re committed to putting our tenants at the heart of everything we do. As well as working closely with residents to make sure we’re delivering excellent services, we encourage our tenants to become members so they can vote and make decisions which help to shape what we do.

Our group

Watford Community Housing has a number of subsidiaries which help us to achieve our goal of delivering much-needed homes. As we are a not-for-profit housing association, any profits we make go back into delivering better services and new homes.

Clarendon Living is our commercial arm, which builds premium homes for sale or rent. As it is part of the Watford Community Housing Group, money made by Clarendon Living is reinvested in continuing to provide affordable housing and high-quality services.

We have joint venture housing companies in partnership with two local authorities. Hart Homes is our joint venture with Watford Borough Council, and Three Rivers Homes is our joint venture with Three Rivers District Council. We've also recently agreed the formation of a third joint venture with Hertsmere Borough Council.

These partnerships allow us to deliver additional affordable housing in South-West Hertfordshire.

Our people

We believe in working together to deliver excellent services and meet our goals.

The Group Board sets our strategic direction, while our executive team is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation, ensuring we achieve our aims and objectives.

The Gateway Membership Team is here to represent you – it is made up of tenants and individuals who are passionate about helping to improve services for residents. By hearing your views, we ensure you are at the heart of what we do.
