Community Chest Fund

The Community Chest Fund is a sum of money that can be used for community events and projects, and it is simple and straightforward to apply for. 

If you are a member of a not-for-profit group that needs £500 (or less) to improve the work that your group does to make life better or the environment more attractive to local people, then get in touch with us!

We have funds available and we are sure there are plenty of groups out there in Watford and Three Rivers who could make good use of it. 

In the past, money has gone on a range of things, such as:

  • Computers
  • Cafe equipment
  • Contributions to children’s activities. 

So if you are part of a group that works to benefit your local community, and could do with some cash towards a community initiative, project and/or item  of equipment, please get in touch by emailing Communities on community@wcht.org.uk

Community Development Fund

As a Community Gateway, our vision is to invest in the places where our residents live in order to improve the quality of their lives and to create more cohesive communities. Our Board have agreed that £70k will be invested this year, in projects to support our Community Development Strategy. This pot of money is known as the Community Development Fund (CDF).

These funds will be accessible to any community group who wishes to promote social, educational or informal economic activities, host local events such as fun days, art, sport or recreational projects, and almost anything else that will benefit the local community, as long as the eligibility criteria are met and the project’s aims are in line with the Watford Community Housing's ethos.

TRA Funding (Tenant/Residents' Association)

This funding is available for constituted residents groups only. These are groups that meet regularly and discuss issues related to a specific geographic area. Some examples of active residents’ associations are:

Meriden Residents’ Association

Courtlands Residents’ Association

Sherwoods Residents’ Association

Watford Community Housing can provide funding and ongoing support to these groups. To find out more please contact the Community Engagement Team on 01923 209 183 or at community@wcht.org.uk. If you would like to apply for funding and are not a TRA, please use the Watford Community Housing Community Chest or Community Development Fund options.
