We may be halfway through Black History Month, but there is still a whole lot of celebrating and educating to be done! The wonderful Race, Religion and Culture network of our EDI group have put together a list of events taking place online and in the local area. 

Friday 15 October at 2pm & 7pm – Free Showing of Black Panther at Watersmeet.

Saturday 16 October at 7.30pm – a screening of “I Am Not Your Negro” at Watford Palace Theatre.

Thursday 21 October at 7.30pm – A show by Ballet Black, professional ballet company of dancers of Black and Asian descent.

Sunday 31 October at 11:00 am - 3:00 pm – North Hertfordshire Museum – “From Windrush to North Herts. – A new life in a new country” exhibition.

Watford Museum – Trailblazers exhibition.

Watford Museum online exhibition – Laurie Buxton’s family photo album – The first Black family to move to Watford.

Black History Month on ITV – a schedule of docufilms.

Channel 4 – A collection of documentaries, films, comedies and dramas celebrating Black lives and Black culture.
