We are investing £66million to bring all of our properties to the Watford Quality Standard by 2012 by installing new kitchens and bathrooms, upgrading heating systems, installing new boilers, new doors, replacing single glazed with double glazed windows and re-wiring.
As a community gateway tenants are at the heart of everything we do, tenants have had the majority voice in developing and delivering the programme.
Our 30-year improvement programme is well under way. Stock condition surveys tell us tell us what work we need to do to and when, and our tenants said it was fairest to start with the 'worst first'. Tenants also said they don't like waste so the plan is to only replace things such as doors and kitchens when they reach the end of their natural life and are in a bad condition. This is an ongoing programme to eventually we will bring al our homes up to the Watford Quality Standard.
You will know if you are getting any work, when you receive a letter from us letting you know when we will be coming to inspect your home and what we are inspecting you for.
Either Mears or Mulalley our contracting partners will come and inspect your property and go through the options you have to select from for example there are a number of different kitchen styles that you can pick from.
You will then get a letter to tell you when the work will be starting.
During this period you will be visited by your Resident Liaison Officer who will help you with any concerns or questions you have.
