What Watford Wants
Community Option Studies are the Trust’s way of building and developing empowerment opportunities in the areas that our residents live.
Why should I get involved?
This is your chance to have your say and make your area a better place to live!
What happens in a Community Options Study?
It is important to engage with as many people as possible so we will hold several open days, conduct surveys and find out the issues that residents have in the neighbourhood. Once the issues have been collected and analysed by local residents, residents are encouraged to prioritise the areas that need action.
Where there is a need to strengthen a neighbourhood, community empowerment staff will help to form partnerships to address any unfulfilled needs. Where there is no community association to be representative of residents, we will encourage the formation of Local Action Groups.
Trust staff will also continue to support these groups to create and deliver an Action Plan to take things forward on behalf of all local residents, working with stakeholders like local service providers, The Police and Council.
How will I be able to be involved?
You can be involved a little or a lot. You can simply fill in the surveys that come through your door, visit open days or also be an active member of an Action Group that shapes the direction of the study and the action plan. It is entirely up to you and everybody’s contribution (no matter how large or small) is vital to the success of the study.
When will my area get a Community Option Study?
The timetable below shows the 5 year programme for the Option Studies in our 20 local community areas. If you would like to find out more information about the process please contact the Community Empowerment Team on 01923 209183 or by emailing communityempowerment@wcht.org.uk.
